Thetford railway station : ウィキペディア英語版 | Thetford railway station
Thetford railway station is a railway station serving the town of Thetford in the English county of Norfolk. It is served by local services operated by Abellio Greater Anglia on the Breckland Line and Long distance East Midlands Trains services. It lies 30½ miles (49 km) west of Norwich on the line to Peterborough and Cambridge. It is the nearest railway station from the Center Parcs resort of Elveden Forest, 5 miles west of the station. ==History== The original station building of knapped flint was constructed by Norwich & Brandon Railway in 1845; the brickwork extension dates from 1889, and the year is engraved on its facade. The well-preserved station complex is a Grade II listed building. Thetford station was once also the terminus for a branch to Swaffham which branched off at the next station along the line (Roudham Junction). That branch was closed in 1964 as part of the Beeching Axe. The other branch (Thetford to Bury St Edmunds line) ran south, calling at the town's other station (Thetford Bridge) which closed to passengers in 1953.〔(Welcome To )〕
